This is a song my girlfriend's brother and I recorded last week. We have had a handful of sessions in my (what I try to pass as a) studio. This was what I feel is one of the best songs from last week. The kid is really very creative, he has literally hundreds of songs/ideas between himself and his very good friend, who I have also recorded. I think he is really great. His voice is not the best, but certainly not the worst, and I feel it works extremely well with his style. I guess I want some feedback on both the recording aspect of the song, and if anyone else thinks he has some solid song-writing talent. It was done with an AT2020, and a shure instrument condenser, a cheap PG81. I haven't done much to the tune effects-wise, just compression because he surprised me a few times with the vocals, so there is minor clipping that many of you will hear.
Tracked with Reaper, because my DAW can't get an internet connection to re-download my cubase key after the activation code...blah
I thank anyone willing to download it and critique it for their time, as it's so valuable these days.
EDIT
MP3 is here:

That was cool.
Different.
Bits sounded like Bjork. In the chorus.
The way he says Sow-ee-ow-ee-ound is funny, but surprisingly catchy.
It's a good demo sound. Practice practice practice. |

That was cool. I liked the song a lot.
I agree with Greener, not polished but a listenable sound for sure.
Does this guy have anything released? |

No, not at all. He works in collections. If you want the full session, after I ask him i would be happy to send you them if you pm me. He is really not into the whole industry, which is sad/frustrating for me, since I have known him for a long time, and think he should try to get something released. Hes working on an EP with one of his friends who has a real project studio. There are six songs, I will post my second favorite tune:
Ribbons and Bows

This reminds me of that Dido track M&M sampled for longer than 15secs... Thank you. |

That's up to you to decide.
However, I like it. |
