I am looking for software for mac os x or pc that can read ISRC codes from CDs. If someone knows about software that is not sadie or sonic solutions, or standalone analyzer please let me know. TNX in advance...

Lots of CD burners come with programs that will allow you to read ISRC codes. Also a lot of the CD ripping software will allow you to do the same thing. There are sooooooo many products out right now that all do somewhat similar things. A quick search on the net will get you a long listing. Some of these programs can be downloaded for trial in case you are interested in one in particular. I don't really want to suggest one over another since everyone needs different things from a program. I just did a quick search on the WWW and got just shy of 10,000 sites.

Best of luck.

Plextor's Plex Tools Professional which comes bundled free with their really great Premium burners reads ISRC's easily. It also has a decent error checking software included also so you can see how many C1's on the discs you burn, and whether there are C2's or CU's on the disc also.

No, there is no problem with your burner. There just isn't much for OSX. Sonic can read ISRC codes. that's about it. I also have an old OS9 program that can read them too, I forget which one. My Clover will read them, and that's what I use. You might want to try Nero's CDspeed in virtual PC with your plextor, I think that might work.

I have this problem too... I have had a cd mastered and was told the ISRC have been put on but it would be nice to be able to check...

Anyone have anymore info on this 'sonic load back' function? Is this part of a certain software? Or is there another way? I just want to check that the code have been put on properly before I send the cd off for copying... I'm on a mac also... I've got toast titanium 7 which apparently can do it (acording to some people) but I have no idea how...

It's a Mac, you will need $1000 for software and $400 for the piece of hardware that collects your dime each time you want to burn...

I wish I was kidding...

Check this wiki page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_image_software
It has a section for mac osx.

I couldn't find a manual for toast, Roxio makes life hard but I could find a bunch of user guides written by third parties. Google "toast titanium 7".

In OS X, with your cd inserted, open up your terminal and type

"drutil subchannel"

without the quotes.

I'm currently testing it, you will get a lot of other info with this command. The CD I have in right now has no ISRC, and it indicates that the codes are not present. I'll try to find a CD with some codes to confirm that this works.

I'll be answering your other burning question from another thread HLF shortly, I'm just about to test the method to make sure that I'm not spewing bunk.

Hi VonRocK, cheers for the help!

I've found that with toast 7 titanium (so I assume with other versions also...) if I go to "recorder" then "disc info" I can actually read the ISRC on the tracks! HOWEVER (and this is maybe where I should start a new thread/topic) if I make a copy of the cd, the copied cd does not have the ISRC codes anymore... it's like toast won't let me make an EXACT copy of the cd... anyone have ideas? (or should I start this as a new topic...)

Why does this thread have 2925 views?

This seems slightly skewed from the norm post/view ratio by like 1800%.*

*99% of stats are bullshit.
