Hi all,
Well I finished tracking this Metal song that I had rough recorded the idea 2 months ago and decided to finish writing it and track all the instruments. The goal was to make a complete song even though there is no singer on it but there is room for it and I still need a shredtastic solo after my so called Keyboard solo on this to make it complete. Also the drums are EZdrummer but as I've done before I plan on taking the midi file and using DrumKit from Hell superior and mix it right.
So I just need the usuall opinion on the recording, does everything sound good? everything in its proper place? etc etc

That's a phat sounding tune dude.
The key synths are a little dated but still moody as hell. It's a dark sound.
Put some troll looking dude up front mumbling gutteral crap no one can understand and you would have 400 emos moshing in no time.
Maybe program some double kick flourishes into it, to liven up the drums. A triplet here or there. A fill or two wouldn't hurt.
Huge guitar and bass sound though.
Rock on. |

I think they're panned just a bit far, but yeah, they're heavy as shit man.
Singing over this I hear a Bruce Dickenson or who's that dude from Helloween again? Michael somebody.
Nice job, I like it a lot. |

The song is cool. The mids on the guitar are too scooped, my opinion. Have you mixed it with the mids up say 12 or 1 o'clock on the dial. Also I still waiting on my daughters boyfriend to have time and sing to the Boston song. They bothe dont have alot of time when school starts. |

I hear a melody line being played on a dirty mandolin with a slow delay competing for time with a, let's see, brass, something in the brass section?
Nice bed, good effort. |

Thank you and take your time with the boston song.
To give you guys a run down on gear that was used:
Ibanez RG Jcustom 7 stringer
Triaxis-LD2 Red channel + 20/20 poweramp
Randall Iso cab with Celestion 30 speaker
Sennheiser 421 Dyn mic
Ibanez 5 stinge bass plugged directly into the Mbox and using the Ampeg Plugin
Keys are done by using Reason 4.0
Drums: for now EZdrummer, will remix song with DKFH Superior later
Mbox 1 with PT LE 7.3 |
