I did this cover a while back and decided to remix it. Plus I did some retakes on the instruments. Its a rocked up version of a song, "The Monkees" did. My take on it is way different than the original. Some of you old guys and gals may remember it. Its called "Zor and Zam" and the lyrics are very cool. After listening a few times, I might have the pipe organ track to loud in spots. Let me know if its too loud or if anything is whacked. Here is a link to the tune and Im posting the lyrics.

The king of Zor, he called for war
And the king of Zam, he answered.
They fashioned their weapons one upon one
Ton upon ton, they called for war at the rise of the sun.
Out went the call to one and to all
That echoed and rolled like the thunder.
Trumpets and drums, roar upon roar
More upon more.
Rolling the call of "Come now to war."
Throughout the night they fashioned their might
With right on the side of the mighty.
They puzzled their minds plan upon plan
Man upon man
And at dying of dawn the great war began.
They met on the battlefield banner in hand.
They looked out across the vacant land.
And they counted the missing, one upon one,
None upon none.
The war it was over before it begun.
Two little kings playing a game.
They gave a war and nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.
And nobody came.

You definitely have your own style going on even with covers. The mixing is great. You sound like a cross between Ozzy Osbourne and Dexter Holland, but I think your voice suits your mixes well. If I had to pick one thing... I'd say that, overall, the sounds aren't the most organic, that is, things sound a bit processed. Are you using any digital instruments? Did you DI and use vst's on the guitar or bass? I don't think it's bad, that's just my observation. Good work. |

Only vst instrument was the pipe organ. Its all digital, well analog to digital. As far as processed the whole mix was with some compression, limiting and other effects. |
