sampling rate question...HELP!

so i messed up a clients session for the first time today and im trying to fix it for them...

so i used a saved template today for drums and i believe i saved that template at 44.1 originally. and stupidly today wasn't thinking and recorded the session at 48. (im not even sure if templates keep the original sampling rate but it makes sense to me)

anyways, i put their audio files from the session onto a lacie for them to take home and when they opened the files in logic, itunes, etc. they were all a half step off (i forget if it was down or up) so is there a quick way to fix my mistake?

does this make sense to do. take the audio files, create a new session at 48 sampling rate and import them? i am at my apartment and havent been able to try it yet but this is weighing heavy on my tired brain and am hoping i can salvage todays work!

I had this same problem a while back. You need to edit the header of the wav file. Search google for a program called Header Investigator (pretty sure it's PC only) and simply load the corrupt file into it and change the sampling rate to 48. I just kept my clock at the wrong setting until I was completely done with the song because it sounds fine before you bounce it. Once it's bounced run it in Header Investigator. The file thinks it's a 44.1 but its 48.

FYI - There is a Header Investigator for Mac as well - I found it via the DIGI User Conference for Pro Tools. It was a few years ago and several OS's ago however
