We are ready to get started shooting our first feature with a Panasonic PV-DV601 MiniDV camera. Rarther than recording the dialog track on the camera, we'd like to record onto ADAT and Nuendo. Maybe do some surround recording on location. The DV601 displays 0h00m00s00f at the top of the viewfinder, but I don't think there is any way to generate SMPTE from this. Should I invest in a MOTU Timepiece AV? If I get one should I just mult the timecode signal and send one to the ADAT/Nuendo and the other to the Camera audio in? I am a neophyte when it comes to Video sync, being a Music Engineer so any insight is helpful. |
