My equipment set up as of now is an ASR-X, EMU PLanet Phatt, Yamaha PSR420, wit SONAR seq.
and i'm primarily a Hip Hop, RnB, and Pop(all music genres cross that line)
from my visits at samash they told me Karma is better for less musically inclined people or people who don't know how to play the piano read notes etc(thats me)
but the other hand triton industry standard but i guess wit less "complete" melodies as notes because the samash rep told me its more beneficial to a pianist
what are ur thoughts? |

If memory serves me right, there used to be a "producer" called Swizz Beats who employed a similar strategy... (I'm sure you know the story.)
If musicality is a serious issue with you, I would suggest hooking up with a musician (or twelve) rather than a keyboard intended to replace them. |

Howdy
As Angelo said, you might best be served by hiring keyboard players to come and play melodies, riffs, etc. for you. IOW, build up your own "sample library".
The problem with getting all your "notes" from the Karma, Triton or whatever is that EVERYONE with access to those instruments can do the same thing. Unless you're a clever programmer, your stuff will come out like anyone else who uses the instrument.
You might look at some of the Remixer boxes out there. Yamaha RM1x, QY-series, etc. I provided a lot of content for those instruments and they can do much more than playback "canned rhythm tracks".
Try looking at some of the more "esoteric" comptuer synthesis programs like "Metasynth". Its very cool and will lead you to more than a few uncommonly heard tones. |
