They had this system up and running for demo at Guitar Center in Las Vegas last week. It was near closing time when I found it, but my quick first glimpse was impressive. I'm going into Vegas again next week, and I'm going to give it a good look.

this is an un-bias Question not an intent to spike ok guy's, just curiosity,,,l Since Nuendo is "Host" Based or rather More "Host" based then PT(PT is Host+DSP), I am Curious to how reliable it will be and how many tracks it is truly capable of doing simultaneously( Record & Play back as well as its streaming ability) Since it is utilizing The "CPU" the track record for programs in this "Concept" have all been un-stable, and are very unlikely to handle a heavy work load. Has any one had a chance to use nuendo under "real world conditions" I would curious to it's performance. ------------------ Joel Gette Soundscape Digital

That's kind of an unfair question Joel. DSP based DAW's are stable because they eliminate as many "weak links" as possible... and even those systems can be buggy as all heck if there is one or more of those weak links in the system. I am sure there are some host based DAW's that are just as stable as the best DSP based, though maybe after a longer and more involved trial & error setup phase.If Steinberg has done their beta homework with all the possible configurations, it shouldn't be half bad.I am also curious.And I am hopeful, now that computers are 100x faster.Yet, still doubtful that it would survive one day under my whip. It just seems too good to be true. Maybe I'll buy one 3 years after it's obsolete... hmm...

I probably now have bugged every soundscape tech there is at least once with this question now, but here it is anyway

How about you guys build a host based system similar to vegas? the Vegas mixtreme combo already is a potent one, but Im sure you guys could do better
