Thomas,
> i wouled be glad for any tips and hints
about what to be carefull with the mindprint en voice compressor and how to mic the piano <
If this is classical music, do NOT use any compression during recording! In fact, don't do anything at all - no EQ, no nothing. Defer that for later. You never want to compress classical performers at all unless they are not very good and truly need it to smooth out their performance.
--Ethan |

hey thomas,
the tascam is a good machine for do this recordings. i do often with this machine, but . . . . i also use no compression with classical scores. be careful. go directly via mixer in the da-78 with good mic-pre-amps and good mic's( large diaphragman) . for grandpianos i use 2 stereo mics. look at this site: http://www.audiotechnica.com/using/mphones/worship/miking.html
perhaps you have a good sounded room, use two room mic's ( omnidirectional )
godd luck
karlheinz, germany |
