I fear this might be too low brow for this forum. I'm trying to learn and realise that I'm speaking to very qualified people.
Anyway, here is my meek mix without training or tools. I won't bother you good people again if I'm in the wrong place.
If you care to let me know where it is at, I'd love the advice http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/rockpop/theron/
Peace,

Theron,
I am a pro with a Audio degree and 10 years Professional touring experience. I still learn new things all of the time from this Forum and others. Stick around, IMO this group is one of the better bunch of guys and gals. We are all here to learn, share ideas and have alittle fun! You are not in the wrong group but rather the right group in my opinion. Whether you have been "into" Sound for 20 minutes or 20 years you might be able to help some of us "older dogs" learn a new trick or two! We were all greensticks once! I tried to go listen to your stuff but they said it was down due to a virus. I'll try again later. Gotta go to work 4 now, Bye.

Hey Pipeline! Thanks for your tips.
Logan, thanks for the warmth. I've been frazzled as of late.
Hope you can listen to the song. I'm tapped out on mixing ideas and such.
Theron. |

Huge improvement between "divine" and "dead horse"!
Dead horse is newer right?
Both songs are written and arranged well, in my NON-Platinum record making opinion for what its worth.
Great job on the drums again. Are they still loops?
Maybe add some more variety with the kick part, the beginning is fine, but maybe after a few bars throw some more drum stuff in. Later on the buildups are great.
As for the mix, it still sounds like a Accoustic pick-up rather than a mic, and I am a little partial to mic'ed acc over pickups. Thats just me, something of the " zing" of an accoustic pickup is disturning. |

Thanks!
yes, Dead Horse" is a more recent project. The acoustic gits were miced with and sm48 and ashure 849. the drums are still loops. I agree I need to work on a build and variety. I'm glad you hear improvment. Maybe I'm acctualy learning.
thanks again for your time. It helps.

Thanks Bill. I won't be so hesitant in the future to post a song for feedback. I've listen too a lot of mp3's from this forum and it helps give a guide as to what to aspire to. Any advice pop into your head with "Dead Horse"?
I'm not so scared to fool around with compression and e.q. tools but, I don't wanna go crazy with them if the original tracking can stand by itself.
theron |
