Look at what I am about to post.
It is 2 of my sessions, both of them was braodcast post menaing, what you d load was after it was said and dne with broadcast compression and I filed it off the b cast.
Then I eqed it to coincide with better eq and mastering.
Both tunes were 2+2 by me.
Notice tune one is close to perfect with the dynamics and I used the same settings for tune 2 as tune one to let you know how even my same mastering, makes tune two off by a large margin.
On tune one, notice the track is alwaysd powerful during vox..notice the drum solo is even a shade more powerful too, (compression) but it is linear compression us mastering engineers can do and can not be used in mix stage.
Now song two I did as well but left the same format for song one in place so you realize that song 2 was not do right due to indivigual edits and such.
Song two is much to poppy and bright and not dynamically correct as song one is.this is the differences mixes do in dynamics. Learn from this example, use the good and bad and lets let tight...we can do it right...LOL |
