Well, I think that would depend greatly on how much it costs! |

Blue LEDs are far more precious (and therefore, more expensive) that any other LED (Seriously!). Avalon places them on their high-end mic pres ($3,000 US minimum...).
Not sure why that is, but it is true! (I am also not sure why anyone would care, but I guess that blue is less harsh to the eye than red or yellow or orange...).
DH |

Hmmm..seems pretty reasonable to me!! I'm wondering how much the rack mounted cases go for themselves. I tell you this..they're not making much profit from that..that's for sure!! Probably making a profit of like 200 and thats it!!! Got to be a reason why it's so cheap for a rack mounted portable system like that. Now, any company that specializes in DAW machines knows that one drive doesnt cut it for a system like that. You need two drives. Partitioning the drive does not make it two drives..just makes it one drive working it's ass off. Also, they say any audio card from their list...what audio cards do they have? Again, somethings wrong with that price..it's too low to include and audio card..or are they talking about Soundblasters and like there of? Hell, Echo Audio cards cost around 700 or more..RME cards are around 500..MOTU crads start around 700..etc etc..go to pricewatch.com and research the prices for everything. You could build the system yourself. Another thing, are they selling you the OS or just installing it for you? Is it a legal copy? Things to consider here!!!

Sounds to me that what they mean is for the buyer to ADD the price of a soundcard to the computer base price - that makes more sense. And yes, a partitioned drive for audio is bogus.
Peace |

I chose the P3 system with a Creamware Power Sampler sound card for an additional $555. And also requested two hard drives, one 20gig and one 40. How does that sound? |
