I've been diddling with this for a while now, and as far as I can tell, there are only 12 notes. The C is ALWAYS low, and the B is ALWAYS hi.
If you want to go from a C to a B, or vise versa, it jumps or dives an octave and sounds REEEAAAAALLY retarded. No low B like a real 5 string, and no going up the neck.
Also I cannot get any dynamics out of it at all, unlike my other midi instruments. It's on or off. No big deal on a bass, but it would be nice, no?
Have those of you who work with it found that as well, or is there something I'm missing?
End of rant

Shoot. I never got as far as you did with it. I "diddled" with it for like 5 minutes and decided it was a piece of crap. So I don't know about your issues with it but I found it to be really cheesy sounding.

Okay, so does anyone make one that isn't composed entirely of digital fecal matter?

Personally, I like Trilogy although it doesn't play the instruments for you a la VB. |

Thanks, tho maybe I should just buy a bass instead and learn to play the analogue version.
I too don't like the 'we play it for you' mentality of the riffs provided. Next they'll come out with Virtual Songwriter, Virtual Producer, and Virtual Audience. You will be able to do..virtually anything without ever having to play an instrument or be creative in any way.
That virtually sucks
Thanks gents
Keith
Hear that kids? Stay away from Virtual Bassist. No redeeming qualities at all. |
