Can too much reverb, cheap computer and a small bedroom and a 20 dollar mic cause the recording to come out like boring cheap and dry and bad like the vocals wise....? |

Too much reverb can make the best singer through the best mic in the best room sound cheap. Especailly if the reverb is cheap. So, yes. |

Mostly effects are only effective when you don't notice them, I mean if the first thing you notice is the delay(or reverb, etc) then something's wrong |

Just a suggestion,
Music editing is for what cant be easily achived within personal asthetics, such as reverb. It is sometimes out of the queston to go to Notre Dame to get the sound you want, however that is why we have VST plugins! Now, these effects can NOT run the show. They are kind of like tobasco, a couple drops will add excitement to the soup, but too much will kil ya. I suggest getting a better microphone first, that will increase your sound input, the most important part, then use the effects sparingly. Happy mixing! |
