If you don't mind buying used, the TRB5II is an excellent bass. Quiet electronics, balanced sound, good response across all the strings. One of these will set you back $500 to $800. The new TRB1005's are nice but I find the electronics a little crispy / edgey compared to the TRB5.
If that's a bit too much dough and you want new, the new BB series 415 and 615 are well thought of in a better than entry level bass. |
