I've treated most of my room with fabric wrapped OC703 and Weineresque bass traps. I still have room under the sleeping loft where the drums fit nicely. While I usually do serious tracking of drums in the main room, they live and are used for day to day practice under the 7' loft, which, looking upward, has exposed rafters then plywood for the floor above.
I'm thinking of filling the rafter voids with regular fluffy fiberglass, fluffy side down (toward the drums) and then putting some sort of fabric against the fluff. I'm hoping this would be a cheap way to keep high and mid reflections tamed.
But I don't know if I can effectively keep fiberglass particles from working through the fabric. Please advise if this is a hopeless task and I can revector my approach, to either put paper side down, or use the remaining scraps of 703 to finish the task.
Thanks! |

Yes, thin polyester batting, perfect for this application. Also available at Joann's Fabrics for cheap. joanns.com
So Bob, looks like you'll actually be done some day. I still have "about a month to go".
