Bosendorfer won't play....

I am totally new to midi, no experience whatsoever. I just got the Bosendorfer 290 by eastwest. The book says I can use it as an RTAS plugin so I figure I can use it like any plugin. I have a yamaha keyboard running into the preamp into an 002r. When I bring up the plugin the keyboard goes silent. I do not have midi cables hooked up from the keyboard to the 002r. Is this the problem? Being as it is being used as a plugin I did not think this mattered. Any help for a midi noob would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Sad

if ya want to controll it the midi has to get there somehow.... osmosis??? and sorry i'm not gonna be much help with specifics on that as i can say i know much about the 002 interface... does it even have midi in/outs ??? i'm also assuming your using some flavor of protools??? my impression was that there is very limited support for midi there...

midi out from the keys to midi in on the digi002. Just like any other instrument plugin.
