I'm now running a Samson C-control to switch between my M-Box 2 and Audiophile 2496 into my Tannoy Reveal 8Ds (and eventually another set of monitors). When I hook up the Audiophile to the C-control with the M-Box already plugged in, I get hissing noise. No other input hooked up, and I'm using balanced cables from M-Box to C-control and to the monitors. If I unplug the Audiophile RCA cables, hissing disappears. I'm assuming it's because of the unbalanced RCA connection coming from the Audiophile. Sound reasonable?
So I'm thinking about getting a new soundcard (I use this one to run Windows output from so I can use multiple sound applications when Pro Tools has the M-Box locked down). Any recommendations for a nice card, yet basic? I'm just looking for balanced outputs and hopefully switchable output levels.
Thanks!!

The MOTU is great, just way more functionality than I'm looking for. I think I'm going to try to find one of the old Echo Mia's on eBay. |

I did look at the Delta 44, but I'm actually trying to reduce the number of breakout boxes I've got going at the moment :) I'm definitely going for the Mia now. Thanks all! |
