I am new to recording. I'm recording a 4 piece Beatleish group To ADAT. Here is my dilema. I have an Alesis 24 board, C1 mike, several 57's Blue Max etc. I was going to purchase a Presonus MP20 and possibly a JoemeekVC-3Q for better preamps.(Most recording will be done as the early Beatles did with minimal vocal and embelishment overdubs). I recently recovered an old EV BK-1242 mixer from a pile of trash. It powers up but needs professional cleaning. Should I put my money into the EV mixer or the MP20 and Joemeek? Are the preamps on the EV as good as Mackie? Thanks, Don |

My vote would be for either preamp - ahh, I don't know about the EV, though - sounds like a dead end.<p>Tony |
