Hey guys,
Here is a worship song that was written to be sung in a congregation/church. It is the first full song recording in my newest studio setup. I would love your opinions. How does the mix sound to you? What suggestions do you have?

Please ask any questions as to what gear was used.
I look forward to seeing what you have to say!

Does the vocal fit right in the mix? Should it come down a little? Anyone? |

It's a good tune and may have potential greatness but timing is an integral part of music, right?
As good as the playing is, the timing is off just enough to create distraction ...to me
The voice works for me and I like that crunchy guitar...drums seem a bit dry and the kick really kicks, a little too close to me, if ya know what I mean.
Yea, nice overall tune!
Good work Ty, especially since those closest to you see the potential that this song has in your lives. |

Thanks Space,
This is the first recording with my new studio setup and we learned some things on the monitoring that will help timing/tempo next time around.
Thanks for the advice on the kick and the voice. I don't have good studio monitors and so I am monitoring out of my home theater system. The kick really thumps through the subwoofer, but not so much in headphones so I kind of just split the difference.
Thanks again for the encouraging words...you know how it is...you wonder what others will think of the tune. |

I think the tune is great, but so far I've only listened on my little laptop speakers. I'll try to give a listen and further comment later. |

Either that, or it was so bad he was rendered unconscious and fell to his keyboard thus hitting the enter key again. Ha! |

DUDE!! Get some pro monitors! You can't mix on a home theatre system. I agree about the timing, it's very loose. |

I would love to get some pro monitors...you know how it is...I use what my pocket book will allow.
Thanks for pointing out that the timing is loose...like I said earlier this is the first recording from my newest home studio and we had some monitoring issues that resulted in the timing problems.
I guess what I was hoping for was someone to critique the mix, the drum miking, the effects, etc. I want to get better at what I do and was hoping that someone would have some advice. Thanks. |

You just keep it up. We all learn so much by having make due with what we have.... |
