Hi Guys,
I was just wondering what ye think of the Toft Audio Designs ATB 16 V the ssl x-rack. I had the x-rack as a demo unit and it sounded great but getting the Toft ATB 16 on demo will be a lot harder as no one does them in Ireland! Could you give me any indications as to which may be a better choice. I'm looking for a summing mixer and more good quality pre's (I have a 1073 DPA, ASP 008, SPL Golldmic and Motu 896HD using apogee symphony ad-16x da-16x through Yamaha 03d to genelecs 8050). I do demo's for bands and want to get a few more good pre's so that I can get more tracks laid down in a days recording, the fact that I have only two exceptional pre's and it's restricting me, which brings me onto the vintagedesign units. They seem really cheap and look the part, but do they come up with the goods in comparison to the real deal?
I hope you can answer some of my questions... |

This is less of an answer but a continuation of your question.
I was about to post a question regarding the Toft ATB series.
It's supposed to have the same EQ as the old Trident 80 console.
I'm also asking if anyones used this or heard it yet?
What are the pre's like?
Thanks. |

You couldn't have picked two different pieces in form and function, not to mention sound. What do you want sonically? |
