Is anyone familiar with the TC Electronic Triple C Stereo Compressor w/ SPL Transient Designer? It's circa 2000, but supposed to be a very capable piece of equipment...any help greatly appreciated. |

The Trpile C does NOT have an SPL Transient Designer built-in!
What it does have is an envelope compressor - this is used to shape attack or release portions of sound, much like the SPL TD. But, it's not related to SPL in any way shape (no pun) or form.
Shaping of envelopes has been around for a while and can be achieved with various tools. In the old days you could actually use an analog synth with audio inputs.
It's a great tool for mixing! |

Space, thanks for your reply- I suppose I should have phrased the question better; in your opinion would this compressor be considered a capable piece of equipment by today's standards? |

The compressor sounds good. Are you looking at the MONO or STEREO. You can LINK two mono units but you CANNOT unlink the stereo unit, just so you know. |
