So the past few days i've been coming up with schemes of the best way to make a booth in my bedroom. Alot of the plans were bogus but then I was suggested to make a 3x5x8 room. There was no way of doing so with the amount of area in my room. So I doodle some more and came up with this plan. I call it the L shape booth. Its a 3x6x8 upside down L shape booth. It doesn't take much floor space but has enough head room at the top to have space for vocals. Just wondering what you guys think? Is it a flop or will this do?

Im thinking drilling hole add queit fan 1ft above the floor area on side pointing towards bed. It will end up around the area which will lead under my bed which should muffle any noise that will leak out. |

FLP,
you need 2 holes - one to get the air in - and the other to get the air out - otherwise you can't move air......
this looks a little crowded to me - I couldn't work in anything like that.........

Gravity does seem to be one of the enemies for this project. |

Maybe you could cut the top down to about 4 ft instead of 6ft and slant it down to the middle part. That might help the gravity of the situation.
It does seem a bit tight. But hey, ya gotta somethin' right?
Maybe the problem is really with the bed. (google Murphy bed)
Or maybe a Murphy style voc booth. ("cone of silence" style)
If the sides are solid, it might be vewy vewy dark in there. |

Building for the sake of building is a poor use of resources.
It can be built, but should it? Is there a model available that will support the proposed idea? Actually there are several. Most require the use of a rectangular compartment with a rather large cubic volume in the space.
I'm not saying not to build it, but the idea is based on nothing more then fanciful notions and is, for the most part, not supported by any building technique or design that I am, and I am certain many others here, are familiar with.
I said it once and I will say it again, spend your money and if not your money, at least your time, on developing this idea with supported knowledge...read a book

ESPECIALLY when the lack of oxygen would result in the ultimate loss! |
