Anyone use it or know someone who has?
I have heard nothing about it, but I've seen a lot of hype.
If it's in the (oxymoronically) new tradition of their reference monitors, I'm not interested.
If it's in the tradition of their soundcards (I have an AP 24/96 which is the best card for the price) I am totally interested.
Thanks-

I am wondering the same thing also. One thing I have found out about it, is that it was not designed by M-Audio, but by the guy who makes Grove Tubes ( I forget his name ) so that made me alot more interesed in this unit. I guess I will have to do alot more searching to get my answer's.
The only real downside to this unit is that you cant control the amount of tube harmonic emulation, so everything will have that one same sound, which isn't always a bad thing, and also there is no gain make-up on the comp??????? Why that is who knows........... |

I own the presonus eureka and I'm completely impressed with it, however I have heard many people on the three forums I visit say that the Tampa was a notch above the Eureka. Also one thing to consider is many people love m-audio's dmp3 stereo mic pre. Of all the cheapest pre's I'd have to say its the majority favorite among everyone I talk to. So if it has the pre's of the dmp3 which I couldn't imagine it not having at least those pre's plus eq and compression it has to be decent. |
