Brad,
I own the copyrights and recording's to many songs. I'll submit a couple to you for review if you like. Perhaps mp3 one and e-mail it to you.
I'll of course eliminate myself from the mastering project itself, in case you decide to use one of my tunes and send you a 24 bit file or a 16 bit cd audio of it through the postal service for the participants to use.

Sounds great. Of course, you wouldn't have to eliminate yourself - if anything, you'd be at the disadvantage! If you'd like to email a high quality mp3 or 2 for me to give a quick listen to, that'd be great. Thanks.

Will do, I'll get one out to you sometime today.
I see your point on being at a disadvantage. However because I wrote the songs and have buku exposure to them, it would probably be best if I sat out. I'm more interested in hearing how other engineers would master the same material, than showing what I can do, anyway. I'll leave my participation on the processing aspect
open for now.

Hey, Brad -

Just curious where we stand on the ROMP....

BTW - For all those who participate, will we then have to call our studios ROMPer rooms? Rolling Eyes

I signed up on the original round, paid my meager $10 to Bill Roberts on Aug 28, 2001. I imagine others did the same. Will you get those funds from Bill or do we have to pay again?

By the way, I won't pretend to be able to master anything. I just want to join in so I can hear the final compilation and compare to discern the differences.

Geez guys, I don't know what to say here. This is what a close friend emailed me today regarding Bill. It sounds like the guy has had a real run of bad luck.

Hey Chris; I relayed your request to Bill Roberts regarding the mas/proj, last time I spoke with him, he said that he has em'd you, and is getting things together. I hope that is so, there was a sudden death in his family.
Let's hope the guy is doing alright. Very Happy

:w: I am a friend of Bill's and assure all the things he was confronted with was extremely demanding of his attention, and I understand your concerns with the costs that were contributed to the project, mostly to defray materials, and shipping. To the excited contributors, I personally would be happy to chip in needed funds, or materials for the project Brad, so that no-one should feel like they have been left out in the cold. I would also like to say, on behalf of my friend, Bill Roberts, and having worked beside him, watching him make magic, that he is world class, and is most definitely an asset to RO, and belongs with the wonderful, technical people that frequently share their knowledge, talent, and time, hard working as you all are.
So Brad, let me know what you need, e-mail me, and I will have it shipped, or if you prefer, funds for postage, mailers, CDr's, etc. Let me know. It would be my pleasure.
Sincerely,
Rick Hammang

Great. There was a charge, originally, but it was just to help cover costs. It was only $10. No big deal. That was a long time ago, anyway (I would have been uncertain except that paypal still has a record of it). I can't seem to find the original Mastering Project threads on this forum; too many pages to look through.

The only thing that I remember about Romper Room was this lady that kept talking about doobie's, or was it Do-bee's. Oh, well a bud is a bud, by any other name...
