    Default very, very simple set-up

As I read through your posts, I understand about every 4th word, so forgive my impertinence in asking such a simple question. But I'm tired of getting jerked around by Best Buy and Sony employees who know nothing :x , so I would really appreciate some help. I'm a high school music teacher and need a basic unit for recording cd's. The catch is I need inputs to record direct from self-powered stereo microphone as well as cd players and a mixing board for the big concerts. I would also like it to be able to duplicate concert recordings with the same machine. I know they exist. I have seen them, years ago even. But now that I want one, can't seem to find it. Any help for the audio challenged?

    What's your budget?

What do you have or is available to you now (PC/Mac, software, DAT, mics available, etc.)?

You can probably use Pro Tools Free (yes, it's free!!!) available at www.digidesign.com for editing.

I'm sure that many more here will chime in with suggestions.
    Peace to all,

    Hello Krisleuk,

I believe what your looking for is for the "Denon DNC550R Professional Dual Drive CD-R and CD-RW Recorder." It has XLR inputs as well as RCA's plus you can copy from one drive to another.

As far as a mixer is concerned I love my Mackies, I have three of them (12ch - 14ch - 24ch), you can't go wrong with them.

Here is a link where I buy all my stuff and the product you need.

    Good luck!
