I hear "The Sound Reiforcement Handbook" (Davis/Jones) is worth reading. Mine is on order right now, should be here any day. If you want, I could give you some more info on it in a week or so.

The Mixing Engineer's Handbook by Bobby Owsinski is a great starter book in my opinion.

Another good book is Tape Op: The Book About Creative Music Recording.

You can get them both at Amazon or Barnes & Noble I'm pretty sure.

The books Chris mentions are good ones. I would also suggest Bruce Swediens "make mine music".

I had not finished it and before I knew it, someone walked out of the studio with it. Bruce is the real deal...since the 50's and he mixes his arse off and still is very active in his studio and in others. He knows the real deal here!

I am hoping for Christmas........well we will see.

I'll second the Mix Engineers hand book. It's the best book I've read so far. The 1st 2/3 of the books are tips, techniques etc and the last 3rd is interviews with about 20 engineers.

Yesterday I finally got "The Daily Adventures of Mixerman" in the mail. The stories that were posted on the internet were great, so I just had to have the book. All ya'll should buy it.
