Default A Better Live Vocal Mic

I'm thinking of moving up to a better vocal mic for some live acoustic recordings for an artist in the near future. I've been tossing around a lot of ideas - but wanted to ask around here to get opinions. I've been using an SM58 for the vocals.

Here is a clip of a show I recorded for him last year - it was with the 58 on the vocals.

If any of you can listen to the clip and direct me towards a mic - I'd love the help. Maybe the clip will help in the choice.

    Thanks! Scott

ps - If I should post this in another forum please advise!

What are you after? All of these mics sound completely different and have differing rejection/sensitivity.

Don't forget about the Audix OM6, Shure Beta86 (I would take this over the more zippy 87), and the new Audio Technica AE mic.

I would try them all once.
I miss record stores and people that love music.

Sorry - I revamped the post - don't know what I was thinking when I first posted that. Talk about an un answerable question. Please revisit the (now edited) post again if you have a chance. Thanks!

I like the Neumann, but he may sound too wooly with it, and any bleed from the guitar may muck it up further. Just my opinion.

I would try the Shure Beta86. I think that is has good body, and good detail on top. Again, just my opinion. It's a cardioid too.

Look at the EV ND767, it's about $150, and worth every penny! Great live tone, excellent feedback rejection, super strong signal, and almost zero handling noise.

just one 58 on that recording - plus a direct line for the guitar.
