Mastering engineers Spot Light. If you would like a complimentary Spot Light in our Studio Page... Go to the Front Page and Create an Article. A few pictures of your studio inserted into the article are a must in order for it to be accepted. I want this to be a visual impact too. It doesn't have to be splashy, but authentic. You must be a professional mastering studio/ engineer .

I know there are a lot of us with mastering assist plug-ins and great ears but unfortunately that's another Spot Light. This is a spot for the real thing.

Also, If you create a blog on the benefits of mastering, it will help promote you even further.

Any question or ways I can assist you, let me know.

  2. Cool.
In fact I am preparing the international version of my homepage as well as expand my E-mastering services worldwide.
    Thanks

I'd be happy to supply my "Fraud" article, but I'm busy chasing down jerkweeds who are "stealing" my site again...

God, I'm so sick of this...

Thank you very much for the opportunity.

My only one trepidation is the redundancy of the titles ; )... but anyway, much appreciation.

You mean your title or the others in there? Whats interesting is how everyone so far has put something to the effect: What is Mastering? My suggestion would be to call the articles The Company Name, This would fix that but I don't really want to tell people what to call their article.

    I see your point.

Well, I can change the article name, no problem.

However, as the auto-short link has already been made, and maybe someone already have made links to the article on their blog or web, is it possible to have several aliases for the article?

That way I could make a new title and a new short-name, and with the creation of an alias for the article, with the previous short name, the current link would work too...

And @WalzMastering, I didn't see your article before posting, sorry about the similar titles.

I guess we both thought about that title because, well, it's the most common question when it comes to mastering, isn't it?
    :)

    This is not a contest
Its somewhat dissapointing to read Toms comment, but he brings up a good point ( that I overlooked) so we're forced now to do damage control, live and learn.

I'll vouch for Njal ( no need to apologize) and a few others that didn't make it to the front page, so far. Interestingly enough, others too were based around similar title concepts.
I see this similarity interesting and informative, not like its a copy cat thing.

Njal and Tom, I've changed the titles to your business name. The urls remain the same. NOTE: All titles will be the name of the company from this point on.
You guys are welcome to start a new one over if you want better SEO for the url. Let me know if I can help, I'm very sorry I didn't see this coming. Looking forward to others!
    Cheers!

PS, you are all welcome to edit your articles 24/7/365.

It's really no problem at all. It was just serendipity/synchronicity. The more people that have a good understanding, the better, right?
    *No worries at all.

I think we have a good thread going here actually. Its bringing ME together and pointing out something very worth discussing. Its why I wanted to do this for you all. So many people think they can do this. I'm guilty of thinking I could master my music as well.

I have had a few submit their articles that I'm certain only have plugins happening yet think they can do the same job as a professional master studio/engineer.
Let me toss this in: Professional mastering is similar to a professional painter, which I am. Everybody can paint but how many can really paint well?

I must say I'm somewhat surprised with the submissions for The Mastering Engineers Spot Light. I knew me asking for images would separate the pack, or intimidate. We had hundreds of views for this. It was posted on twitter, emailed to studios and googled well, but only a few studios actually submitted their business with confidence. Kudo's and respect to NFL and Walts and Don for his cool Blog!
We had interest with a growing number of DAW plugin based mastering studios but they were rejected because I wanted to see a room and monitors attached to their mastering studio article. Only 2 pro studios with actual acoustically designed facilities, and gear came forth. Granted, we aren't the worlds number one site on the planet, but if it were me, I would take any opportunity to talk about my business, especially for free exposure.

If you want an honest answer...There is a certain person, or if you will persons, that I really don't want commenting on my site or anything that I have to add to the discussion. I am never sure if he or they have been banned from this board or if he is here under a new nome de plume, screen name, avatar or whatever. At least that is why I have not replied to this. The mastering section of this board use to be the first thing I would look at but with all the name calling and out right uncivil behavior of a couple of members (maybe the same member with different screen names) I seldom go to this board any more and I have noticed a distinct lack of postings over the last couple of months. It is too bad that the actions of a few have to spoil it for many but I guess that is the internet.

First I ever heard about this. If this is effecting the flow, we should get rid of that problem. PM me please.

However, I don't buy it regarding my previous post. The Spot light is a separate entity, totally unrelated to the forums. It is private and non threatening. It is a 100% professional way to promote your business. It is an article about you and what you do. I wasn't expecting the main flow to come from our mastering members here. This is a global observation. I really think the mastering world as we know it, is dying. Different world now.

As a budding recording/mixing engineer, I can attest to the lack of interest in mastering.
I stress the importance of this to each client, and intentionally leave my finished mixes at lower levels to prove this point.
Despite my best arm twisting, I've only gotten two projects to go to a pro ME.

Thanks to Waltz' article though, I may have convinced one of my current clients to go his way.
So it does make a difference, as difficult as it may be.

Gotta side-note with TB. The situation was certainly pulling this place apart (well, the mastering forum - which is really the only one I visit when I'm here). It turned another rather popular forum into a complete circus and I don't think it will ever recover. What was a reasonably 'high end' forum for serious engineers and inquiries is suddenly at near 'joke' conditions with daily threads that have nothing to do with the mastering process and should be on the "I just started recording yesterday and my stuff doesn't sound like 'pro' stuff" forum (which they don't have). Oh - and a clearinghouse for 'cattle call' requests.

Moderators 'scolding' the wrong people, not listening to the long-time members' concerns, letting the place fall into chaos... It was really pretty sad to watch.
