My friend already has a few songs complete, and now we are trying to bring the audio into the computer on separate tracks to mix it properly. We are going to re-record the vocals.

    We are working with:
The blue Korg Electribe MX (sounds and drum machine)

    The Korg D1600 (digital recorder)

I also have an Echo MiaMidi sound card.

    Question #1:

What is the best way to get all the drum sounds recorded on separate tracks from the Electribe, to the computer software (protools etc)? IE hihat on separate track, snare on separate track, bass drum on separate track.

    Question #2:

The D1600 does not have a USB or firewire port unfortunately. So how do we transfer to the computer? There is burning everything to CD, which will take a LONG time with everything he has stored on there. The 40gb drive is just about full and he may buy a new one.
I saw something about copying to the clipboard and using an external drive?

He is thinking about buying an Mbox with ProTools, which I wonder if we even need or is the best option. (The new stuff we will be doing is guitar and bass guitar, and we have a new drummer that should be playing soon)
