Finally upgrading from Cakewalk's Pro Audio 9 to Sonar (I know, I know); & need to make a decision as to whether or not to go with Sonar, or Sonar XL.

The reason I ask is: I will also be picking up (as part of a total PC studio upgrade) Steinberg's Wavelab; & Izotope's Ozone 2, so as to have a decent mastering setup...

...& I wanted to know if the mastering tools provided in Sonar XL, which are Sonic timeworks EQ & Compressor X, are as good...

...& therefore justifying the extra cost of the upgrade?

Are there any Sonar users out there, familiar with these tools, that can help me out?

    Thanks in advance,

I've used Sonar XL for a while now and the ST EQ and comp are indispensable. I would definetely recommend the the XL package.

If you are just getting into this you might really like XL since it comes with some higher end compression, EQ and synths.

The effects are very nice sounding.

If you already have a pile of plugs you might be ok with regular Sonar.

    Hey dude,

It's Kev. I already had Sonar2.2 and I upgraded to XL after attending a Sonar clinic.

The extras are definitely worth it.
