When I record a bands performance, I record the audio on 24 tracks, and the video is recorded thru a 4 channel switcher via SMPTE time code sync. on an audio track of a stand alone DVD recorder. In post I mix the 24 tracks of audio and (using SMPTE) mix the audio to 2 tr and transfer the video to a new DVD.
My question is just as I master a 2tr CD mix, how can I master a 2tr DVD mix and put that mastered audio, in sync back on a new DVD? To master CD's I am useing a MAC G-4, Panther, Peak-4 with IK T-Racks plug-ins. any thoughts ?
Hi,
I've seen it done with Apple DVD Studio Pro. If you audio clip lenght matches the video clip lenght, all you have to do is drag an drop the files to appropriate boxes. Let the software know what is Left Right (and if you have a surround mix, Center, LFE, Ls and Rs)
It takes WAV files and I think AIFF. Then you have to configure the options. I would recommend reading papers from the Dolby website, because this can be the tricky part of the process.
As long as the starts of the files are in sync, you'll be allright.
How do you compress your video files? I use Cleaner.
Hope this helps.
