    Default video/audio sync

i tried recording from a mixer directly into a computer and then used that audio for a video that i took with a sony vx2100 video camera and the audio was synchronized with it at the begining perfectly but by the end of the video it was off. is there any way i can get it to sync perfectly and if i would have to buy a seperate recorder what would i need to get?

Did you not load the audio off of the tape from the vx2100? If the audio recorder was separate from the video recorder, then your lack of a common clock reference at the shoot caused this problem. One way to rectify this would be to have your computer locked to blackburst, or .1% below the sample rate you are using now (48-->47952 or 44.1-->44.056). If you could play back the video tape and the computer with both devices locked to blackburst, then you may have a good shot at fixing this.

Ultimately, this is one of those problems where it is best to fix it at the source. It's not easy to fix it afterwards.

You need a blackburst generator. An interface that accepts video sync(Blackburst). A program that recognizes that interface, and will allow video sync to control its speed. If you have audio directly on the tape, you can load that into your video synced system as a guide track and than mod match the audio to the guide track.
