Default Loading Proteus X as a VST in Cubasis

Does anyone have any clue as to how to load the Proteus X as a VST to sequence in Cubasis? I have installed VSTs before and loaded them in Cubasis, but under the VST window, Proteus X is nowhere to be found.

I actually figured out the problem when I found one of AudioGaff's responses through searching the forums...I installed Proteus X on a different drive rather than the default C:...when I tried to update the software, it couldn't find it so I reinstalled it with the default directory settings on the CD drive (but I left the soundbank on my secondary drive)...now it shows up as a VST in Cubasis

Good for you! See, it pays to use the search function and help yourself. Feels good too Huh?

Now go and download the ProteusX update as it is not included on the install CD. 50+ MB. Might as well also download and install the updates for patchmix and drivers also.

^all has been done....I am having another problem right now...and trying to troubleshoot it...I am recording in Cubasis at the moment...I record with the metronome and everything on beat...then I play it back and it is completely off beat...the latency is at 10...no cracks/pops or anything...the only problem is that when the notes are recorded and I play them back, they are out of sync with the tempo/beats and I have to adjust the notes in piano view to match...I am going through the latency and buffer settings, but to no avail..

    have you encountered this problem?

    AMD XP3000 CPU
1 GIG DDR400 Corsair XMS Dual Channel RAM
few hundred gigs of HD space
    EMU 0404 card
    ATI radeon 9800 pro

just in case you were curious about my comp specs

Make sure that you have E-MU E-DSP selected for the ASIO device. Turn off interpolation and disk streaming in the ProteusX preferences window.

Optimize your system. www.musicxp.net tuning tips.

You can try to drop your ASIO latency for MIDI recording and then raise it for recording/plauback

Dump that 5-generations old Cubasis crap. It is full of bugs, quarks and other problems that will never be fixed and isn't even supported by Steinberg anymore.
