i really don't know!!!

but it coul'd be a russion replica of maybee the sennheiser, or similar
i have a friend in london who has several replicas of top notch mics made during the communist era in russia and they look all slighltly different then their original counterparts, but sounding AMAZING, better say without any audible difference to the original!!!
whereby there have been tons of different replicas of the same mic made in russia during the C era (some are extremely good, some of them are shite!), maybee you have one of those lucky dips, like my friend... he has e.g. a U87, C414, etc. for next to nothing sounding just like the Original, and well crafted too...

This mic doesn't belong to me :( but I really really want to get one. It just sounds amazing no matter where I put it on a guitar and no matter what the amp!!!

sorry can't help you 'bout that, my mate bought them from some engineers in london (who got them over dubious sources from russia) about 10 years ago, for really a joke price and they still work and are in heavy use (all of them!) i am jelous too, cause they really sound amazing, and are built extremely well, you know like a russian tank... LOL :D

Are you sure it's not an ME64? I can't look at the other pics that you have links for. You've reached your bandwidth limit, or somehting. However, the picture that is in your post looks identical to an ME64. Is that the entire mic? Or, does is plug onto the K6 powering module? There are 2 versions of the K6 module, one will take a battery, that would explain why you did not require phantom power.

I just found out what it is. Its a Beyerdynamic m201. They don't make that model anymore the new one is a m201 TG or something. But I'm in search now to find an original 201. It sounds amazing!!!

The Beyer 201's are a well kept secret. I have a pair of original 201n's and they look a bit different, the main thing being the six slots on the Beyer are narrower and from that pic it appears as if the screen protrudes from the mic body a little ... on my 201n's the screens are flat.



As you can see from this picture, the mics I have are different looking than the one you posted.

I like my 201's on snare drums :!:
