Wow I saw him in london, (AWK) not for a LONG time have I seen such a insanely unhip group of people on a stage!!, (like Jerry Spring guests with gtrs)

It was at an indie music biz 'best of year' night, I think the music industry stood there with their mouths gapeing! (I know I did!)

Not since the 'musos choice' / 80's comedy band - Jellyfish have I heard such a perplexing yet entertaining hybrid of ripped off styles and and stolen musical melody motifs!



It was exausting keeping pace with the copped riffs & styles!

I really dislike AWK, but at least something kinda hard is being played to mainstream audiences somwhere. I GUESS that's always a plus. But I must agree that they're sound is very plagiaristic.

A.W.K is the spawn of an A & R managers post coke stupour @ 3am in the morning....

A & R type says to VP of major label ' Hey i have seen this dude who looks like a real scary Redneck from the Xfiles and he sings like some bad 80's flash back and dances around like a tool'

LOL... this is just one hamster that should not have escaped from a major labels 'experimental music laboratory'

Personally i prefferd Bros! to AWK... thjey ahd a bit of style and panache and were fun to bag the shit out of. AWK is just plain boring!

I bought all but the Strokes record (i couldn't be THAT trendy).

Well the dude has to be making some money somewhere!!!!! Cos he sure as hell is not selling here in Oz!

As for Kylie 'the Aussie budgie' she and Jamiroquai will allways be cool and sell albums... but the strokes i am not so sure about.. depends on how much the UK media can hype them! How cool can they really be...? Read the latest copy of Q mag for a complete breakdown of 'the strokes' fashion sense. its a hoot!
