Default Setting up a home studio for personal use, need help with equipment.

Hey guys, Im 22 and majorly into hip-hop. I just semi soundproofed my basement with glasswool etc. I have some equipment but im not sure if its routed correctly or even if its adequate. I really need some help here.
I have a RODE NT2-A, no preamp, going into my M-Audio Profire 2626 going to my Macbook Pro, 2008 model, into Logic Pro. From the mac 3.5' out it goes to M-Audio BX5 D2. The sound quality is decent but i dont know if it gets any better or not. I also use a midi keyboard, Keystudio 49i, which i plug in directly via usb to my mac. I use it for most of my production work.
I dont have a mixer yet because i dont feel a requirement for it. Does a mixer make a lot of difference in sound quality? ALSO, is there a way of taking out headphone mixes without a mixer? Profire 2626 has 2 headphone outs but when i need more than that, i have to use a splitter which of course gives a 3db drop on every split.

I'd really appreciate any kinda help here.
    Thanks a tonne,
    Regards,
    Dron

    Hi, and welcome!

    A couple of don'ts:

Don't spend money on a mixer - you don't need it, at least for the limited amount of what you have said you want to do.

Don't confuse the number of headphones you can drive with the number of separate headphone mixes you might need. If you are happy with having only one or two mixes but need to drive more physical headphones, then get a low-cost multi-channel headphone amplifier that you connect to the outputs on your interface.

Connect your speakers to the M-Audio Profire 2626, not to the Mac.
