loved your raw ability to just lay it down. That is a dying art. I couldn't quite make out your words but it is the heart that I pick up on here and what I respect. Your man is a luck guy!
The song doesn't keep me coming back though.
Thanks for adding talent to this contest! I love Winnipeg. I grew up in Regina

Reading your blog and thinking about trying to make a song work with a usb mic... oh my. You do need this preamp and a good mic. I'll move you round 2 because I just can't bare to not give you another run at it under these restraints.

I was almost going to suggest re recording this but listening to it in my studio I can make it out better. Good Luck in the Next Round.

Roy, you are a bad ass jazz man! Some good chops in there but the lyrics don't stand out like the others. Very fun hearing your work and having you add spirit to this contest, thanks!!

    Exclamation The Final Cut

As a young man I used to love the Funk - Stevie Wonder, The Brothers Johnson and bands such as Funkadelic.

Sly and the Family Stone and even the Jackson 5 got a spin on the 45 rpm Columbia turntable. I lived in Milwaukee

at the time and the Soul Train passed right by my bus window everyday. Good times!

I used that inspiration to create this track for your consideration in the Presonus ADL 600 contest. Here's hoping!

Here's my funky Presonus ADL 600 jam:

Thanks to bigtree for making this possible, and to the whole recording.org community as well - a great place.

Hey Doug, a really fun tune. Takes me back to a dear friend now passed away... Your sound and heart is spot on.
These pre's are killer for acoustic instruments, I'm guessing it would fatten up a banjo very well. A couple of Royer 122's I'm thinking would be stellar.
    Thanks for the blog!

    Default This Is Our Time

Hi, my friend just told me I had to resubmit my song. I never received an email notification. Hope I'm not too late.

Oh man, you guys missed the rules. Our members do not welcome any song that forces us to download from the web.
I love the song. If you get this to stream I will move you to the next round? PM me asap.
Thats better! I think it actually sounds better but could be because its a new day with freash ears.
I love this song, Has the Canadian vibe. A little timing issue 3/4 the way through, but I'm not judging any of these over your engineering skills. That contest is coming!.
    You go to Round 2.

    Good Luck!

I like what you are doing with the second vocal in the chorus. That's cool. Unfortunately it doesn't keep me coming back for Round 2. Thanks for adding to our contest and best wishes.

Excellent, I remember it. Very well written and I love that fact that it is spot on about gear with mention about the PreSonus ADL 600. Your recording ability is very good. You held it together when I expected it to smash during the peak.
Congratulations, you made Round 3. Good Luck!
Excellent blog. The first thing that stood out with the ADL 600 was the sound I got plugging into the Instrument line in. Took my Paul Reed Smith to heaven. I hardly need to eq.
