Congratulations! Definitely a great song and recording, and fun how it incorporates the whole forum in it.
The votes are in and it was a unanimous because you had it the most right.
Congratulations Sean (song4gabriel), you are winner of one kick ass preamp dude! Great song and blog!
You Win The PreSonus ADL 600

We all felt you were the most connected to this contest.
We all agreed that the other songs were excellent, and if under a different game, one of the others here may have been the winner.
jonbuilds, and Caleb, man you guys were trailing close. Caleb, you have a very top 40 sound, keep up the great work. I'd be signing you if I was able.
jonbuilds, you had me with the the sax solo, I loved your song.
sarNz very cool song and a great story. Blog and song were very strong
Dog everyone loved your tune.
John, I still think you may have taken it home with the Angles song...
jordy, solid rocking tune.
And LearnToFly, I loved your song right from the start.
All of you deserve a Standing Ovation ! I hope you can keep your songs online for a very long time. They are something to be proud of.
And this goes for all 31 of you!
Sorry to the two disqualified. Part of my contest was a test of honesty, respect and appreciation. And to prove you could handle the creative process by me and adapt as I tossed in some twists.
If I was signing someone, talent isn't everything. When you work with people, you want to see they are team players and they can move with the creative process. That they stick with you when times get tough or even more, when they get really good!
That they don't create trouble when things go sideways. That they stand behind the group and take it all in fun and stride with one common goal.
Thank you for making this worth it to me! (That was a lot of work!) I'm inspired to do more of these.
Okay, I could go on but I need to sleep>

We have been talking about a bonus so if we can figure out two runner ups, or maybe do a draw, I don't know right now, toooooo tired... any suggestions?
We love you all... Our mastering engineers are going to donate their time and master Sean's and two others songs here. I think this is really cool!
Also, Remy is going to give away something vintage gear to the 2 runner ups! I'll let her tell you about it. She suggested this on her own. Remy, you have a heart of gold.
I'm burnt out so that's it for now..
Stay tuned...
Congratulations song4gabriel!

What a great contest this was. Since it was't only about the song, we considered many aspects of the contestants and their entries.
It was not at all easy to decide. All have done a great job and deserve our greatest respect. We thank you for all the work and effort. It has been an honour to be a member of the jury.
I congratulate Song4gabriel on his win. I hope, the Personus ADL 600 will be a good friend to you for many years. Maybe you even send us a tune, sometime, that you recorded with it?
What a great addition to your equipment. Do me a favour and ditch the Digi, now.. ;-)
We come back to you all by the time we have agreed on the runner ups. As bigtree already mentioned, we have a little extra treat for ya.
I wish you all a good night and myself two dry recording days in the woods, where I am now.

PS: Please, do us the favour and get another Avatar picture...
now that I got that out of the way...
First and foremost I have to express my tremendous gratitude for Bigtree. This contest was great, we all know that, but it pales in comparison to what he has done here at RO. It is impossible to imagine how many people across the entire globe have received life enhancing, maybe even life altering, information (and fun) from this site. I happen to be one of those people. From my very first post, which went something like this on the day i joined 7 yers ago (the post is pretty ironic):
"Hello all
I am new to this forum. I am recording my own cd on Pro Tools at my home studio)...and was wondering what would preamp would suit best for my particular voice. I sound a bit like Bono, Bowie..."I have only been recording my own stuff for the last year. Im a it of a sophmore in some areas and this is one of them.
Any help or suggestions would be sooooooo appreciated!!"
I have been shown the way of the wonderful world of recording by coming here and reading, posting, asking, and then applying what I got here to my own music. The fact that I can record a cd all by myself is a direct testament to this. Maybe this never happened if you didnt create this wonderful place online. Bigtree, you are simply...as good as it gets.
Second, I'd like to thank the panel who judged in this contest. The moderators on this site are, in my opinion, teachers mentors to all of us. The fact that you think my song was good enough for each of your votes, is very humbling. Most of you have been in this industry a long time and have acheived many things professionally - the fact that you take time out of your busy days and nights to guide and help us here is simply touching.
And lastly - to everyone in this contest, you are the most inspiring. You guys (and girl) put it all on the line, writing your hearts out- and singing/playing your guts out and gave it everything you had. You may not have won a preamp, only one of us could (athough I'm sure Bigtree wishes he had a few more lying around), but you did exactly what you are supposed to do- what you are made to do- And that is to move people. You all moved me, that is for sure.
I forget where i first heard this, but it applies here perfectly:
"I think if your can touch one person in the world with your art, you are a success. By exposing just that one person to your music and giving them something positive, you can empower far reaching goodness within them. With this goodness, interpersonal and inner personal relationships can change. Those they meet along the way will find themselves better for it still. If they too can become further carriers of this goodness, you can begin to assess the moving power of song."
that's enough outta me. i'm going to go and try to sleep.
love
sean quinn

Congratulations, song4gabriel, for bringing passion and creativity and persistence to the forum and to your song. Your obvious dedication to songwriting and recording earned you the gear, but your character and connection to the forum and the contest make the win great for all of us. I hope the ADL600 gives you another step up, best of luck. I know all of us will be looking and listening for your next release!

Sean, I am very happy for you and am sure that the addition of the ADL 600 will be an inspiration to your music making. You are absolutely correct in singling out RO as the phenomenal resource that it is. I look forward to your posting of the first piece you create with your newly acquired gear.
