    Default korg kronos

I was wondering if there are any Korg Kronos owners out there and if they could share their opinions/thoughts on it since I'm thinking of getting the 88-note version for home recording and live use.

    thanks!

ps: I'm not sure this is the right forum... is it?

I'm thinking about one too. My choice would be the 88 key but I've heard is has some minor action issues. This was early on so it could be rectified. I think the keyboard sound and what it does is the best out there. I would love to own one indeed!

yes, bigtree. I've also heard about those issues, and I have to admit, I was utterly scared, but I think by now they should have been solved, right? my aim was to replace the M50 88, the Casio privia px330 and the R3 with just the kronos. of course I know I'0m going to miss the privia's keyboard action, which is stunning, and the vocoder in the R3, but maybe I can use a vocoder vst for recording, and I suppose the rh3 will be somewhat similar to the m50's. or is it a new/improved version?

I think Korg hasn't changed what was working. They just had some other issue, can't recall that created a fuss. They know what works, I mean I have an M1 here that is 20 years old and its still solid.
There is another member who contacted me a few months back over the 88, I'll send him this link and see if he will chime him and let us know what he thinks by now.

please do!! I also want to know about those glitches/technical issues, whether they've been solved. does my idea make any sense? I mean, replacing the m50 88, the casio privia 330 and tthe R3, all with the Kronos...

Anytime I ever replaced a keyboard I always regretted it later ( well except dumping an Arp Quadra and an Emulator II. The EII was a pretty cool 8bit marvel that got me on top of the Dance music scene in the 80's. But I was happy to get what I could for them both.
I think the Konos is going to replace a lot of what the others are but it might not ever replace the ability to have an addition keyboard right there when you need it.

For fun, here are the midi pieces I've had. Some of these I used 2 running together. Smaller venues I didn't have enough room for everything.

Good riddance of that Quadra, eh? But we were young and impetuous back then. Still have a dead Chroma :( and an RMI Keyboard Computer...now THAT's old!

Thanks for notifying me on that link moon! I fixed a bug that I wasn't aware of on the blogs!

The Chroma was a Cadillac compared to that Quadra. I had to turn that thing on for an hour before the gig to stabilize the VCA. I remember freaking when I heard ARP dissolved so I traded it in on something that I can't recall. It makes you wonder where all those keyboards are eh. I bet you could get a pretty penny for that Chroma. Vintage is in.

Check my blog now, I fixed the link.
