    Does any one knows what microphone does John Mayer use for his vocals.. I am recording a kid that has a very similar voice but I dont quiet get the same sound...

    Every time I have seen him perform live (except once), he's been eating a 58. The one time he wasn't, it looked like a Beta he was on. He knows how to work the proximity effect to the max...
