Default Using bathroom or laundry as mic room/ echo chamber ?

    Hi guys

i was watching a documentry about Tin Pan Alley and how they created the echo chamber by recording in the bathroom , because of the reverb comming off the chiprock.

if wanting to record at home , would you recomend using these technic or can you give me any advice into creating a affordable echo chamber mic room.

    cheers

Half the fun in this crazy sonic palette is trying anything that you believe will give you a certain texture with your sound. There is nothing good, there is nothing bad, there is only recording. Many studios in the past created live chambers from back old stairwells, with a microphone at one end and a speaker at the other.

Now please remember to put the seat down on your guitar amplifier after you are done!

thought of that once, of using a toilet as an isolation for the vocals of a band im working with. Din put it to action because the ambience would be wierd for me, and may seclude the vocalist.. haha, no windows or circulators. Plus I need to wire a mon inside there which i am lazy to..

Converting the bath room to something acoustically "nice" would be hard as the high humidity will destroy the paddings and stuff, assuming you want to use the bathroom still. plus no carpetting, any leaks there goes...

    hey guys

narr my floors are tiled in the bathroom , actually i wasnt even considering to use the toilent , what i was mainly intrested in i noticed with the material they use in making laundrys and bathrooms its called giprock i belive , i have proberlly spelt that wrong. but its not quite concrete and not quite a foam. It's still solid also.

however the reason i ask is . if you go into your laundry or bathroom and record anything even jibbish you will automatically get a nice natruall echo and the qauilty of the reverb is outstanding.

Just wondering if any of you guys have tried to do get a natruall echo for vocals , without using software.

Well then, be careful that you don't piss on your microphone stands.
