    Hey guys,

This is the first mix of my latest recording, so I'm looking for some feedback.

    Appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Hi there Mister M!

    Some feedback? OK here goes.

I really liked your song. Good rock 'n roll. Lots of soul, passion, musicality.

As for the sound of that crummy recording, it almost sounds like you recorded it through an SSL LOL. Great engineering! The one and only thing I would've liked to have heard differently and there was one and only one thing, there sounded like there was a female vocalist at times doing some kind of counterpoint soto voce'? she sounded quite nice (if she was a she?) And I would have pushed her up just a tad more. She's lost. Come on you like girls don't you? And it's not a girl? Push him up some more, what are friends for? Oh? That's your falsetto? Will push yourself up some more. LOL otherwise is just as great as anything else I've heard and maybe just leave well enough alone?

You know you can ruin things with improvements.

I appreciate you, Remy...as always, a review that made me smile.

Yes, I like girls...and yes, that is me singing backup, apparently sounding like one. 8-) I will see about bringing myself up better, um more. ;-)

Hey, if Brian Wilson didn't sing in a high falsetto, would we have ever heard the Beach Boys? So I think you sounded cool. Can't wait to hear your remix. Come on now, you're taking too long. Do something in the toilet already and flush it our way. Better hurry... it's going to get cold up there real soon.

I'm so happy that Canadians like snow better than I do.

No...we really don't like it any better, we just have more fortitude. ;-)

September be a busy time for us teacher folk...no time to do the things we'd rather be doing. Here is a link: notes from my secret lair,

Your lair ain't a secret anymore? Your drums were awesomely tight. They rock. Though I think you could have eased up on the vocal compression a bit? But that's just me. Actually not so much ease up on the compression but slow down the attack. I'm missing a certain amount of dynamic excursion in the vocal. It's too highly controlled. It's got a great sound on the vocal. I'm not getting the right Waves... man... WOW! I almost feel stoned, saying that LOL. Thanks!

Yes, Canadians most certainly have a lot more fortitude. You live in the same latitude where they send Russian people away because they don't like them anymore in the reasonable weather latitudes. I think they call it Siberia? And a few miles across the road it's called Canada. So come on down here to the lower 48 were we are enjoying global warming at its best. We need good teachers and wonderful songwriters like you. Canadians could teach us Americans to be kinder people. After all, you also live in the American continent of North America. And we don't have any problems inviting Canadians into the United States to work. Thankfully most Canadians in the United States don't have to pick fruit and vegetables all day. No Caucasian American wants to do that so... not sure why they want to keep sending the Mexicans back?

What do you mean you can't be doing what you'd rather be doing? My fifth and sixth grade teachers were two of the most influential people throughout my schooling. Two people I think very fine thoughts and memories of almost every day. You should get some of your students involved with her songwriting and performance? Look how much more you would enrich their lives. And like good teachers everywhere, we would like to put you up on that special pedestal in our lives. It's my pleasure getting to know you better my Canadian friend.

Keep those frustration based protest songs coming! Otherwise you'll have to stay after class.

    Keep on keeping on!

    Thanks Remy,

I think I know what you mean with the vocal...I had a few challenges, initially, trying to get the vocal to sit right in the mix, and it's likely that I did use too much compression on it, while I was grasping at straws. When I get a chance, I'll make a few more adjustments.

hehe...I should clarify on the "what I'd rather be doing comment"...I was just referring to all the admin type stuff that I have to do at the start of the school year, not the teaching itself...I love that part! It was just the meetings, planning, bulletin boards, and photocopying that I was referring to. September is always crazy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. ...and I think that this year's group of kids is going to make my job just a little easier. Pretty cool bunch!
