    Default Bass Trap placement

    Hey Ethan,
    Great forum
I've got the materials to build 2 of your low bass plywood traps from the build a better bass trap article. Before I build them I'm trying to figure out where to put them.
I have a one room setup..kinda live end/dead end with weird dimensions.... Front wall (where desk and monitors are..13ft 4inches wide by 27ft long and the rear wall opens up to 17'4'' wide..the ceiling is vaulted(like a A frame) ceiling height starts at front wall at 4 ft and goes to 11 ft at highest point in middle of room and slopes back down to 4 ft at rear wall.

The best space for the traps(logistic wise) would be behind the the desk (and monitors) stacked on top of eack other.

I'm not sure how effective this would be??

...I would like to not install the traps permanently if possible.I'm also not sure I have room for much more than 2 traps given my room setup.
I did install some Lenrd type traps in the corners which did seem to help with low mids but I still have low bass issues.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    Rivers,

Your room is very similar in size to mine, and I have 16 panel traps plus 11 soft absorbers! So you shouldn't expect much, if any, improvement from only two traps. At the very minimum you'll need eight, with one low-bass and one high-bass type in each corner. Additional traps can go on the rear walls. If there's no room on the walls the normal way, you can put them sideways on the walls either up near the ceiling or down by the floor. Since those are corners too, they're an ideal location for traps.

    Thanks...
How did you mount your traps on the ceiling?

Would behind the desk,on the floor, stacked on top of each other be a decent location at least to start out with....

    Rivers,

Exactly as shown in the article, but on the ceiling instead of the wall. And yes, it was a pain!

I'm not sure what you mean by on the floor stacked on top of each other. The main goal is to cover as much of the room's surfaces as possible.
