Default deep bass traps above work bench?

    Hi Ethan

I have a small studio with a work bench across the room (wall to wall)and built in, hard against the back wall. My video monitors, rack and speaker monotors sit on this bench. If I mount bass traps - 2 in each corner, should they be deep bass traps, and if I use .25 inch ply over a length of 4 -5 feet, will this still work? Or should the thickness of the ply be proportional to the length of the bass trap?

    thanks

    Peter

    Peter,

As explained in the article, you need both the low-bass and high-bass types. You also need more than two traps.

No, the thickness of the plywood, along with the depth of the box, determines the center frequency.
