Thread: Could i use Superduct as soffit trap (bass trap)

    Default Could i use Superduct as soffit trap (bass trap)

    if i mount Superduct high up in the ceiling corners
    could i use it as not only ductwork but also as soffit trap(bass trap)
    i am affraid that this might be stupid question.

    Im not from the states but is Superduct this "fleecelined" glasswool?
    So I suppose it definitly would absorb something in a broadband manner. If you want to make it absorb bass you gotta make it rather big and as distand (or better filled) from the corner as possible.

    but i am confused two super duct from Schuller International, Inc. and from jm.com
    two superduct might be the same
    jm.com name it superduct RC(it might be more upgraded origin superduct)

    That's why I asked if that was YOUR "superduct" - the RC stands for Reinforced Coating, and it's likely that absorption characteristics are different from the older, "standard" superduct.

    Are there any markings on yours to identify which brand, or do you know? (JM is the only one I'm familiar with) Steve
