auralex max wall, portable vocal booth, or real vocal booth?

hey, IIm new at this and im setting up a home studio. I am only using my home studio to record vocals. All my beats are premade and I will probably just send them to a friend to get them mastered and mixed for now. However, in the past I noticed that my vocal recordings sounded pretty off. Someone told me there was too much echo and I need to get some acoustic foam. However, I dont know which ones I should get. I am in an apartment and I move around alot so if possible Id like something that can be moved from place to place. and I dont want to overspend vocal booth if I dont have to. Like I said Im just recording vocals. but I want them to sound as professional as possible. These are the things that I have found online. which one do yall think would suit my purposes best.

I was thinking of the 831, because I dont know if the 420 was enough and maybe the 1141vb is overkill for what Im trying to accomplish, what do yall think. can i get by with just the 420 and still sound really good. or should I get the 831 or even the 1141vb.

I also saw this on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260462640597 the nrc rating is .75 which is not as good as the auralex foam, which has 1.05. how important is the nrc rating? I want it to be as good as possible, but im also on the budget. is .75 still really good? or is it just a cheaply made booth that is not worth buying?

lastly I saw this its called the portable vocal booth. http://realtraps.com/p_pvb.htm is that thing any good?

My suggestion would be to learn what the NRC is, how it fits and how you are misinterpreting it to mean bigger is better.

thanks for replying space, but I already know what the nrc rating is. I read the link, and it is just how much sound is absorbed and not reflected back in the mic, right? I know bigger isnt always better because there are other factors that play in, but all im doing is recording vocals. I just want to have something to keep the echo down. Im just asking yall, what product would yall buy, if you was in my situation. maybe im still too much of a newbie to really know. but all I want is an opinion on what to buy.

Owens corning 703 1 inch panels or a comparable type of rigid insulation for making broadband type absorbers is often used to kill reflection points, sometimes 2 inch is used. Most of "us" don't run out and purchase store bought type appliances, maybe it is we are cheap or maybe it is because we are frugal ;)

The one thing I would guard against with the nrc is that you can get two of the same products with the same nrc rating but the frequencies that they perform at can be different...and that is where you are aiming is the actual specific frequencies of a product, not just the nrc points.
