I know what you mean .... I played in a band for fifteen years before I realized that the only reason I did it was so I could play with the knobs ... :D
Blinking light just make it better ..... meters moving, now I am really high!

Im just kidding. I just said that to get people in here.
Damn, I love audio. What makes it feel so rewarding and fulfiling? What is it about those tiny buttons, the rows of knobs, impatient musicians, and blinking lights that interests us? I couldnt imagine myself doing anything else and being happy doing it.

I support this thread.
There is just something about knobs, wires, meters...
Do you agree that hardware is better than looking at software versions on a screen for the lights, meters, etc?
I just LOVE the warm glow of tubes!
but don, wave forms are so sexy.
yes, waveforms are the best part of digital displays. I hate scrolling thru layers of menus to get somewhere.Originally Posted by NolanVenhola

Power on, the distinct aroma of electronic components warming up and then the visual buzz of meters, lights and knobs... lol.
Cheers!

Disgusting!!!
I think the mothership of lights and knobs has to be the Sony Oxford. I had the luxury of using one when I was studying at SAE Miami. I use to just love to put in a miles cd every now and then and just turn the lights off and watch that thing glow!
