I finally crossed my fingers and upgraded the forum software today. There are apparently about 200 bug fixes plus a new Editor added. I'm not sure I like it "yet" but I'm told there were compatibility issues with the older Editor that caused conflicts with certain browsers and certain OS. My older Mac that I use to surf the WWW with is one of them so, I too am forced to upgrade my OS or live with some annoying things I'm already seeing. I'm using Firefox 3.6.19 which is way past its time.
Hopefully the majority of our members see an improvement with this new software version and it does what it's suppose to do.
Using older firefox?
So far I have been randomly seeing the forum show up like an iframe in the quick reply window. This is really annoying. If you encounter this bug, until I find a fix for the older browsers like I'm on, an easy fix is to either "refresh" or proceed on by clicking the Go Advanced, it seems to clear up doing that.
Auto Save
On the plus side, one feature worth mentioning is an auto save function. I think it will save your post in case you crash or something like that. Other that that, as mentioned, many bugs for the blogs, forums and Content Management System have been fixed. The site seems to be a bit snappier as well.
If you encounter forum bugs, let me know?
Cheers!
Looks great here, chief! Firefox 5 is handling it just fine.
