Speaking of Budget Gear, how about Low-Cost DIY?

Thought I'd share some DIY Projects I've designed and built.
First photo is from my home studio: I designed and built the 24-space rack, the Workstation/Desk, the 8-inch deep acoustic panels behind the desk and the supports for the 3 Owens-Corning 703 Acoustic Panels (I bought the Panels "Raw" from ATS Acoustics then covered them).

6k budget, need advice buying smart!

Need your input! Im looking for a little guidance/insight on how to upgrade my 'semi-pro setup' to 'all-Pro'. I've been recording clients for the past two years with this setup, and I've come a long way in skills, but its time to upgrade audio "quality", particularly with regards to conversion. I only use 8 microphone inputs at any one time.

I'm in an acoustic band and we've been saving up to record an album by paying for it in a Studio, the usual way. However, we recently decided to spend the money we've saved on some equipment to pump out some half-decent demos instead of focusing all our cash on a short period of professional recording.
